Mother's Day

All of us at the Brownie Shop are busy preparing special orders for Mother's Day. Some of you may already know this, but the Simply Divine Brownie Company was actually named in homage to my mother, who loved to exclaim "That's simply divine," when she came across something (a dessert, a dress, a novel) that particularly tickled her fancy. Although I lost my mother over a decade ago, I like to think that she's been a big part of my journey here at Simply Divine. Owning a small business is full of challenging hurdles, but I'm so proud of what I've been able to accomplishm in the 5 years since I started this company, and I'm sure my mom would be proud, too.

Life is sweet, every twist and turn. I'm thankful I was able to experience so much of the journey with my mom by my side. Even though she isn't here with me today, I like to think that if she was, she would take one look at the Brownie Shop, sample a bite of the Pink Lady Brownie, and exclaim, in her exuberant way, "Why isn't this just simply divine!"

As Mother's Day approaches, I hope you're all able to steal a moment of time to think about your mother and the special place she holds in your life.

What a lovely tribute to your mom. I'm sure that she is as proud as can be and watches over you everyday. Happy Mother's Day to all.

  2. I am sure your mother was and still is simply divine herself!
I have found that as much as I love being a Mom, it is a grand thing to be the mother of a mother. That is why it is called a Grandmother!
Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom's.

  3. I just finished devouring the new pink lady brownie, it was delicious! The strawberry frosting with the fudgy brownie and milk chocolate is fantastic! I made a special trip to the brownie store in Freeport and bought a half dozen for my Mum for Mother's Day. They were so good I had to have my husband hide them till next Sunday, out of fear, I would eat my Mother's day gift! If only I was a mom I could have give them to myself! Next time I will buy more!!!

  4. Indeed life is sweet in every twist and turn. And with occasional treats of sweet and scrumptious brownies -- poetic!

  5. It's great to know how much you value your mother. That, I might say is also simply divine!

  6. Mother's Day is indeed another reason to give in to our sweet tooth. Brownies have a way with them that makes you want to pick one after the other and damned be the consequences. To me, brownies represents something happy and sweet. Thank you for sharing!
